LANSING, Mich. – In a significant enforcement action, the Michigan Department of State (MDOS) has suspended the operations of Al Baraka Driving School, effective immediately. This decision comes after the driving education provider was found to be in violation of the Driver Education Provider and Instructor Act (DEPIA). Al Baraka Driving School is located at 11405 Conant Street in Hamtramck.
The suspension follows an investigation conducted by MDOS staff, which revealed that the driving school’s established place of business was closed, with boards covering the windows and doors. Furthermore, the provider failed to maintain necessary records at this location and was unable to provide requested documentation upon reasonable inquiry. The MDOS is currently investigating additional records for potential violations.
The MDOS plays a crucial role in ensuring that driver education providers and instructors comply with state regulations, thereby safeguarding the quality and integrity of driver education in Michigan. The department conducts regular inspections and investigations to uphold these standards.
Individuals who may be affected by the summary suspension of Al Baraka Driving School are encouraged to reach out to the MDOS’ Driver Education Unit for further information. They can be contacted via email at [email protected] or by phone at 517-241-6850.
