Hamtramck, MI – January 27, 2025
The City of Hamtramck, in collaboration with Hennessey Engineers, Inc., has announced a significant upgrade to water service lines along Jacob Street, spanning from Joseph Campau Avenue to Conant Street. Beginning Monday, January 27, 2025, 5-Star Contractors will start installing and connecting new 1-inch copper water service leads. The upgraded lines aim to enhance the quality of water provided to residents.
Parking Restrictions and Construction Schedule
During the construction process, residents are advised that no street parking will be allowed in the designated project area. All vehicles must be removed from the street by 7:00 AM each day to provide contractors with access to the main and stop boxes. Work is scheduled to take place daily between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Overnight parking will be allowed, but vehicles must be relocated before the morning construction start time. Non-compliance may result in tickets or towing at the owner’s expense.
Anticipated Timeline and Weather Considerations
The project is expected to conclude by early March 2025, weather permitting. While delays may occur due to inclement weather, additional updates will be communicated to residents as needed.
Contact Information for Concerns
For inquiries or concerns during the project, residents are encouraged to contact the on-site construction inspector, Corey Puritt of Hennessey Engineers, at 734-460-8004, or Lawrence Gardner from Five Star Energy Services at 517-861-7566.
